What's On

We are proud to have a huge variety of attractions and things to do at the show. From archery to falconry, live music to lifestyle shopping, there really is something for all the family.
(And yes - there's not just a stunt plane on this page for effect. We do actually have one at the show!)

Hot Off The Press: The Animal Roadshow set to attend Hylands Country Show

The Animal Roadshow was established in 1979 by James, a scientific fellow of the Zoological Society of London, and consists of many “exotic” animals – snakes, spiders, frogs, insects, lizards, etc. – displayed to the public in an extremely entertaining, interesting and professional manner.

James, a TV presenter who has recently completed a 12 week series of Live ‘n’ Deadly and Deadly Days Out with Steve Backshall, is guaranteed to attract large crowds, and keep them entertained throughout the event.

The Animal Roadshow does not bring along mundane and ordinary animals such as goats, rabbits and guinea pigs, but rather ones rarely seen by the public, such as giant snakes, massive rats, huge cockroaches, bizarre mantids, weird hedgehogs, gigantic tarantulas, enormous scorpions etc.

In other words, The Animal Roadshow uses only animals that have the “ooo-aah”, the “wow” and the “urghhhhh” factors!

There is a whole host of arena entertainment on offer at the show. For more details about the exact timings for the main area, or to see bios for those performing, visit the Main Arena page.

Here's an overview of the interactive, entertaining (and sometimes downright dangerous) main ring activities:

  • Falconry
  • Gundog Displays
  • The Ferret Roadshow
  • Geese Herding
  • Sheep Racing
  • Sheep Shearing
  • Dog Shows

Please be aware that not all activities may be happening on both days. Check the schedule for more info.
